Ghana will face Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals on Sunday, after lots were drawn to determine whether they (Guinea) or Mali would progress from group D.
Mali and Guinea played out a 1-1 stalemate on Wednesday after having each drawn their previous two games in the group, meaning their fates had to be determined by a random draw on Thursday.
After the lots were cast, Guinea were the successful side in the proceedings run by the Afcon Organising Committee in Malabo, meaning they advance behind Group D winners Cote d'Ivoire.
The Black Stars will face off with Guinea on Sunday in the last-eight.
The stars qualify to the quarter final of the Africa Cup of Nations 2015s, after a brilliant 83rd-minute header from Olympique Marseille winger, Andre Dede Ayew.
